FIXING DETAILS:

215 mm stonefacing tiles (New lightweight) easier to use.
Each box contains four tiles - all same size 495mm in length and four colours of stone. Thickness of tile 12mm - 15mm at edges and 35mm in centre weighing between 3.3 – 4.4 kg's each. You can cut tiles to make your own sizes to give random look or for fill ins at row ends or different patterns.

Our stone products are designed for easy cutting and working, from which they will continue to cure and harden over a period of time, becoming part of your wall etc...

How to lay stonetiles with grouting. You can cut the stonefacing tiles easily with a grinder or diamond saw blade (like a keystone), and work it like real stone with very little wastage. Using a 6mm notched trowel apply adhesive to structure first. Then apply a thin coat over back of tile. Place the two surfaces together and slide up, down and sideways for good adhesion (Don't tap!). Cut 10mm dowel as a spacer. Only lay four rows of tiles high at a time. Give 24 hours to set before starting again.

  1. For solid construction materials such as brick, blockwork, hebel panels, render, blueboard fibre cement sheeting, quik’ntuff panels etc, we recommend the use of a single part flexible cement based adhesive.
  2. In all instances, we recommend priming the surface prior to adhering the Stonefacing tiles.
  3. Also another adhesive to use is ARDEX X56 in 15kg bags, a very flexible adhesive to use with 50mm PVC duct tape covering blueboard joints.

It is standard building practice to have an expansion joint in straight walls every 5Lm approx, usually under and above windows and doors.

GROUTING - DO IT YOURSELF

Normally a mix of 2.5 Sand to 1 O/W Cement plus Yellow Oxide + Water...
Procedure: Wet down stone grout lines so dry stone does not absorb moisture from grout too quickly.
Mix dry product thoroughly, then take out a quarter portion, add enough water to make a stiff paste. Using a trowel upside down with quantity of mixed paste on it, place trowel onto bottom lip of stone and scrape with an instrument into grout line. Then leave dry for half hour before raking out. Use rubber glove on fingers for best result.
We have a product consisting of a dry mix & special liquid which matches our reconstituted handmade sandstone naturally. *** For large areas you can use our special grout gun ***

Keep product and packaging dry before installing and
please save boxes for return.

Note: When laying stone wall tiles inside homes you can use a 5-7mm grout line and there is a selection of coloured gunnable grouts available in hardwares.

If you would like to seal stonetiles against weather, we recommend, "bondall...Limestone & Sandstone sealer" available from Bunnings Hardware in 10litres
